As I’m sitting here writing my first blog post, I can’t help but thank God for His faithfulness. This blog is something I’ve been wanting to pursue for a long time, but I kept making excuses as to why I couldn’t, or shouldn’t start. I was scared what people might think, or that I wouldn’t have anything important to share, or that I would start something and not finish. I have this vision of what I want my life to look like, and recently God has almost forced me out of my comfort zone to pursue that dream.
I am twenty-two years old. I grew up in a Christian home in Kansas, and I know that God has given me a talent and passion for designing. As a little girl, my friends always wanted to play with Barbies, and all I wanted to do was decorate Barbie’s house. I knew, from a young age, that this is what I wanted to do. However, I never saw myself having a “career,” or working in a design firm anywhere. So, I just set that idea aside and thought, maybe I could make a hobby out of it someday.
I’ve been married to my husband, Logan, for almost two years. He started a cattle company when he was fourteen years old, and has owned his own businesses ever since. He’s now about to turn twenty-three, and has never had a real “job,” nor did he get a college degree. For the past four years, we have been involved with a company that promotes fun, freedom, and fulfillment, and we have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and experience lots of amazing things, while earning a residual income. My mindset about success changed during this time. I’ve learned A TON from a business perspective, and we continue to grow and learn everyday as we build our business. But I would say it has taught me more about myself than anything else. From a personal development stand point, I’ve learned:
- You don’t necessarily need a college degree to be successful
- If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life
- Nothing that is worth getting is ever easy
What that means for me through this blog is sharing my passion. Sure, I’m passionate about travel and making memories, but I’m talking about what I like to do when we aren’t abroad; what I pretty much spend all my time thinking about. Designing. Decorating. Do-It-Yourself projects. Furniture refurbish. Renovations. Improving our home in any way, shape, or form. And I knew if I didn’t start now, I probably never would.
I thought I would introduce my blog by being as authentic and real as possible. We recently became home owners, and I see it as an opportunity to make this house our own, and I will be sharing our progress along the way! I get my inspiration from so many different places, and my hope is that I can inspire people through the ideas and projects I share. Now that I’ve shared what’s on my heart, I’m excited to get started with the DIY projects! Stay tuned! Thanks for reading, God bless!

So true! My husband’s older brother has a college degree that he runs in my husband’s face all the time but he’s almost 39 w no steady job, no home, no wife, no kids, no car, still at the bars every weekend whereas my husband has built a very successful company, has a wife, 4 kids and is building his dream home. Tell me again how much better you are Bc you have a college degree? Definitely not knocking education, my brother has his doctorate and has made a successful life for himself but it’s not the only, nor the better, way!

Thank you for the comment and encouragement! My husband and I are laughing about this because we still get funny looks when we tell people we didn’t go to college, and we took the entrepreneurial path. We believe in education too, but it doesn’t have to come from a lecture hall!
